Boundaries: A Delicate Dance With Divinity
We have a toroidal field that extends out from our midline in all directions, enveloping us and folding back in again, a constant flow of energy that is both cleansing and protecting. It’s this field that carries the breath of life, and creates our energetic boundary that surrounds, enters, and informs the physical.
Boundaries are what permeate our autonomic nervous system, flipping the switch on our intelligence, and letting us know we are safe or in danger. By cultivating healthy boundaries we are retraining our nervous system out of threat response and hypervigilance into a more nuanced state where we get to decide.
We have choice.
This choice can feel overwhelming when we aren’t fully in our intuitive wisdom and there have been ruptures in the field that have distorted the boundary. The great thing is we have the authority and power to heal these ruptures and come back to our full intuitive knowing.
Boundaries are often mistaken to be solid when they are as fluid as waves lapping at the shore. Our boundary is where the shoreline of our body meets the ocean of the wider living field.
The shoreline is a liminal space where we meet the world and build relationships. In here, at the edge of our being, where we can conjure magic and potential for alchemical change.
Boundaries are tidal.
They are where we meet the ebb and flow, the tides of life.
The liminal space of our boundary is both experiential and experimental, one where we can learn how to navigate the tender space of being oneself and not losing that in relation to another. It can get uncomfortable here and yet it’s also where we learn how to negotiate. Maintaining a clear boundary isn’t about putting up walls, it’s about moving in the liminal space where magic and transformation are created.
Our boundaries are not meant to isolate us but to bring us into deeper connection with our inner and outer relational fields, where we can learn how to surf the waves of relating rather than building walls.
Our boundaries are a delicate dance with divinity, with the breath of life. It's our choice that can lead this dance. Because when we get to choose and negotiate, that's when we are really relating and swimming in the multidimensionality of the tides.
